Richard and Jackie met at work when Richard came to fix her light switch. They became friends and soon after went on their first date to get ice cream at Cold Stones.

Jackie and Richard, along with family and friends, were celebrating Richard’s 31st birthday at Edna Vee’s in Covina. As the live band played cover songs, the waitress approached Jackie with the bill. Confused as to why she was handing her the bill, Jackie reluctantly accepted the bill. She let the waitress know they weren’t ready to close the bill and would continue to add drinks to their tab. The waitress insisted to give her the bill. As she opened it she noticed it read, “Marry Me?” In Richard’s writing. As she lifted her head, she noticed Richard on one knee. Nervously, he kept reaching for her right hand until Jackie told him, no this is my left. He placed a gorgeous engagement ring on her finger and asked for her hand. She quickly said yes! With their family and friends, they celebrated Richard’s birthday and their new journey in life together!
