Amanda and Brandon met by chance in August 2012 when they were placed in dorms next to each other at Binghamton University. Amanda was a freshman and Brandon was a sophomore. The two became friends with Brandon coming into Amanda's room to steal her Pillow Pet and watch YouTube videos. The two worked out a deal where Brandon would help Amanda with her microeconomics homework, in exchange for her sewing his ripped pillow and basketball shorts. After a few months they started dating. At the time, the idea of a night out consisted of taking public transit to Taco Bell and walking over to the theater to catch a movie. Despite the constraints of a college budget they made the most of these date nights and made some amazing memories together over the next 4 years at Binghamton. Plus they could always count on their group of friends to give them something to do. In 2016, Brandon and Amanda both left Binghamton. Brandon received his masters degree and was going to start working at Deloitte in New York City, while Amanda received her bachelors and was starting graduate school on Long Island. With the two of them living about an hour away from each other it was a big change from their college days. They made the most of it, between frequent phone calls and weekend trips, however Brandon eventually decided to move to Long Island in 2018 to be closer to Amanda. In November 2018, two days after Amanda finished her last clinical rotation, Amanda and Brandon took a trip to Boston with two of their friends to celebrate. Little did Amanda know that this was where Brandon was planning to propose. Brandon decided the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum was the perfect location. Amanda had noticed something was off that morning when Brandon barely ate his breakfast, but didn't read too much into it. When they got to the museum, they tried to find a perfect spot for a photo. Once they did, Brandon got down on one knee and proposed. Amanda was so shocked and said yes!
