We met at a mutual friend's board game party. Zach was in the kitchen eating chips when I walked up to him and introduced myself (that was a first!). He tried to reply but mumbled because he had a mouthful of chips (we jokingly recreate this moment any time he's eating chips). Once we were able to finally have a conversation, we made plans to meet up at a bookstore the next day.
When Zach and I got engaged, we knew we wanted our wedding date to be a date of significance for us; our anniversary. We set out to plan for that to be our day we celebrated with family and friends. Well, things didn't go as planned. With a new job position for me (middle school teacher) and a busy work schedule for Zach, planning a wedding got to be too overwhelming. So, Zach and I decided we would instead do a courthouse wedding in January. Due to Covid restrictions on courthouse weddings, that also didn't work out. Our next plan was to have my coworker's husband marry us on our anniversary. But Covid struck again. We ended up not being able to do our ceremony on our anniversary, but another day that was just as special for us: the day we first kissed (Yes, I remembered the exact date). Now, just because we got married, doesn't mean we forgot about our plans to celebrate our love with family and friends from across the country and abroad. We cannot wait to see you in June!
