Melina and Iran’s love story began the modern way, through Instagram. Melina saw Iran’s profile and instantly thought he was the cutest guy she’d ever seen. It felt too good to be true, and she couldn’t imagine he’d actually be interested in her. So much so, she ended up standing him up on their first date. (To be fair, she felt awful about it.) To her surprise, Iran gave her another chance. They rescheduled to the Cheesecake Factory, and even though Melina was quiet and nervous, giggling through most of the date while Iran carried the conversation, something special sparked between them that night. Over time, their connection deepened. Iran brought light, laughter, and peace into Melina’s life. He became her steady hand, her soft place to land, the one who always knows what to say. Everyone who knows Melina knows one thing, she’s nearly impossible to surprise. She’s curious by nature, has everyone’s location shared, and somehow always senses when something’s up. But on December 15th 2024, Iran pulled off the impossible. While Melina was away on a work trip in Northern California with her friends Sam and Nayeli, Iran shared his plan with them: he wanted to propose. On the drive back, the girls suggested finally planning Corazón Photography’s long-overdue company dinner something they’d talked about for years. Melina was excited by the idea, not suspecting a thing. The plan was to meet at the Huntington Library, take a few cute photos with their boyfriends, and then head to dinner. In the days leading up to it, Melina was nervous and almost canceled more than once each time unknowingly throwing Iran into a quiet panic. But on the day of, she got ready and they drove to the gardens. He was quiet, noticeably so, and Melina kept asking if he was okay. They arrived and walked through the gardens with their friends. Melina took photos of Nayeli and her boyfriend while Iran and Sam coordinated behind the scenes. When it was their turn for a photo, Iran took Melina’s hand and led her to the Shakespeare Garden her favorite part of the park. Somehow, it was empty. The light was golden, the space was quiet, and everything felt still. As they posed, something shifted in Melina’s chest & she knew. When she turned around, there he was, down on one knee. It was a moment of pure joy. She said yes, and as they embraced, their families came out from the bushes, cheering and full of love. It was magic, a moment suspended in time
