Hunter and I met in 2017 when we were both in a finance study group. One day, the group all met so that we could study for an upcoming test, and that was one of the first times I talked to him longer than saying hello. When we were learning, he asked my friend about me and that he wanted my number, but at the time, I was not looking to talk to anyone. A few weeks passed, and I saw him again in Craig Hall during GHOE. We exchanged numbers then and said we would try to meet up sometime that week. Later that week, we saw each other at a party at Limelight, where we danced and talked on the phone later that night. The next day, he stayed at his friends Brad and Rod's apartment, and we then went to some party at a party in the woods. He came over that night after the party, and we talked all night. From there, we became friends and started dating for some time off during our senior year. Once we both graduated, he asked me to be his girlfriend at my graduation party. Since then, we have been locked in and grown from young college students to adults. I am so happy I met Hunter and excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
Who would have thought that a trip to the library could have changed everything. What started off as a group meeting to study for a Finance test would turn into a longshot ask out, and begin what we now know as this story. Starting off on the campus of the illustrious North Carolina A&T State University (Aggie Pride!), Aliyah and I have shared many experiences, from graduating and joining the workforce together, buying our first homes, welcoming Kensley & Paxton into the world, all the travels domestically and internationally, we have truly experienced life together and I’ve cherished every moment of it.
