We're getting married!

We were seniors at Broadneck High School, on an AP Art field trip to NYC. We knew of each other from attending the same school, but hadn't truly met before. We recognized each other in the museum and quickly bonded over some of the art. We ended up spending the day and bus ride home together. We found out we were both running the Bay Bridge race the next day! Our first official date took place in downtown Annapolis, where we checked out a local record store, visited a meditation studio and had pizza. Afterward we listened to some of the new records at Hunter's house and then left each other, both feeling like we were on Cloud 9. As they say, the rest was history!

After navigating 4 years of college in separate states and then 3 years of grad school (Julia) and working (Hunter) in Atlanta, we were preparing for our move back to Maryland. It was Labor Day weekend and we took one last hike together along the cliffs of the Chattahoochee River, one of our most favorite trails. Two butterflies were following us the whole way; we think they were our dear Omi and Grandpa, and the hills were covered in beautiful yellow wildflowers. Jules, basking in the beauty of sunny wildflowers fields, said, "It's so beautiful, maybe we'll get married here someday". Hunter, who was holding her hand, tugged her back and when she turned around, he was down on one knee. It was the perfect beginning to our next chapter!
