Alyssa & Robert

Wedding Party

Dena Hill

Mother of the Bride

Alyssa's #1 supporter and absolute best friend. Alyssa has always been very protective of her mama and they grew very close as Alyssa became an adult. We love to spend time together and can waste an entire day shopping. I definitely inherited the inability to be on schedule from her. We love to go on trips together- my two favorites have been a cross-country road trip to the Pacific Northwest in 2013 and our adventurous trip to Ireland in 2018.

Alice Hoberg

Mother of the Groom

Bobby's biggest fan who is always willing to help, regardless of the situation. We enjoy gossiping about what is happening and Memphis and she never lets Bobby leaves her house without Chex-mix. Despite loving Bartlett so much, and a hesitance to leave, she is willing to make the trip all the way to Maryland for her son's wedding.

Raymond Hill, dec.

Father of the Bride

Alyssa was Daddy's little girl growing up- always accompanying her dad to Home Depot and helping with yard work (albeit begrudgingly). Raymond was a great dad and was always showing his girls an adventure, whether it be on a camping trip to the ocean, a trip to Disneyland, or shooting a BB gun on his grandparents orchard. Although he is no longer physically with us, he has undoubtedly been there throughout Alyssa's life and will be a strong presence on the wedding day.

Bob Hoberg

Father of the Groom

Bobby's Dad is one of his biggest role models in life. Nearly all of Bobby's habits come from him. We enjoy watching movies with popcorn (with real butter!), talking about politics or current events, and playing board games. Although Dad has maintained his superiority in Trivial pursuit and bowling, Bobby hopes to soon surpass him.

AnnaBeth Lawless

Maid of Honor

We met during sorority recruitment in college at Memphis- and both ended up in the same sorority, DG! Lived together for a short stint before AB moved to DC for grad school. Little did they both know, Alyssa would receive a new job offer in DC a year later and now they live close again! We love to travel together and share a "military kid" bond.

Eddie Cavender

Best Man

Bobby has looked up to Eddie since he was very little and has always tried to make him proud. Whether we live near or far (or together) it is always an easy reunion. Eddie can always make Bobby laugh, and he very recently gave Alyssa and Bobby a nephew, Braxton, who will hopefully remember his uncle Bobby when he is a hotshot baseball player someday. We love watching and theorizing about whatever is the newest TV show, and Eddie has tried to teach Bobby to be a better griller, but has thus-far not succeeded.

Cheyenne Garrett

Matron of Honor

We were in the same GATE classes throughout elementary school in California. In the sixth grade, we sat next to each other in class and would always belt Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" at the top of our lungs! We became the best of friends and did all knds of crigeworthy, early 2000's things together (like choreographing a dance to Hannah Montana for the school talent show). We share a Portuguese heritage and traveled there together in 2018.

Josh Smith

Groomsman

Josh and Bobby have been friends so long that it is difficult so summarize their relationship here. They met during the winter when Josh's brother, Nick, and Bobby's sister, Beverly, ganged up to destroy us in a snowball fight. We may have lost that battle but ever since, Bobby and Josh have been nearly inseparable. We have seen and done everything together, and even now that Josh is married with a wonderful wife and three beautiful children all the way in Iowa, we still make the time to do most of the adventurous things we did as youngsters—only virtually now. While it is miraculous that we survived our childhood, Bobby surely wouldn't have made it without Josh.

BreeAnna Hill

Bridesmaid

Sister of the bride. During the last 25 years we have gone through the many stages of "sisterhood" from playing together as kids, to fighting as teenagers, and now sharing a relationship. BreeAnna gave Alyssa the title of Auntie Lyssa to her two nephews.

Shelby Johnson

Groomsman

Shelby and Bobby met while working together and became great friends almost immediately. We could talk for hours about anything and make it interesting. Shelby always has a new joke or random fact about the day. Shelby is recently married his lovely wife Ivy, and their relationship is one that Alyssa and Bobby hope to mirror. Shelby is much happier wearing shorts and a t-shirt while listening to sports talk radio; if you find him doing this during the wedding, please remind him he agreed to a wear suit!

Samantha Shaleen

Bridesmaid

We became friends in Iowa while working together at Papa Murphy's Pizza. We both moved out of state but our friendship only grew closer! Alyssa served as a bridesmaid at Samantha's wedding in 2018.

Nick Smith

Groomsman

Nick and Josh are brothers, and thus we all met the same (fateful) day. Nick has always acted as an older brother and been there when I needed him. He has a way of bringing an exciting raucous with him everywhere he goes so it is hard to be in poor spirits when he is around. Despite the countless injuries he has given Bobby and Josh over the years, he is a truly a gracious friend who is always giving and asks for nothing in return. As a flight engineer with the Air Force, he recently deployed with his crew, and is scheduled to return just before the wedding, making for an exciting turnaround.
