Dane County Farmers' Market

Saturdays on the Square at the Dane County Farmers' Market is every Saturday from 6:15 am - 1:45 pm. Visit the market early for the best selection of cheeses, flowers, baked goods, and local artisan goods. We recommend grabbing a coffee and strolling the square for lovely start to the wedding day!

Terrace at the Memorial Union

The Memorial Union Terrace is near and dear to our hearts. This is a University of Wisconsin-Madison iconic location. Grab a local beer, some Babcock dairy ice cream, or a bite to eat from one of several onsite eateries and take in beautiful Lake Mendota from the famous Memorial Union Terrace Chairs. Pro tip - bring a deck of cards and play some cards.

Wisconsin State Capitol

History buffs and architecture aficionados alike will appreciate a stop at the Wisconsin state Capitol. Constructed between 1906 and 1917, the building is an iconic fixture in the Madison skyline. Among the architectural highlights are the council chambers, which were modeled after Venice's Doge's Palace. Other chambers within the building feature French and Italian marble, skylights and murals. During the summer months, be sure to stop by the sixth-floor museum and observation deck. Entrance is free. The Capitol is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends and holidays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free guided tours are offered Monday through Saturday at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., as well as 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Tours on Sundays are available at 1, 2 and 3 p.m., and an additional 4 p.m. tour is available Monday through Friday.
