With the help of Austin's sister, Amelia, we were introduced during a Keener family vacation to St. Simons Island. After the vacation ended and everyone went home, we both assumed nothing would happen. After all, "she's my sister's friend" and "he's my friend's brother." A few months passed, and, with Amelia's help, Austin and I were suddenly part of the same friend group. We saw each other every week at Bible study as well as on some other outings. One time in particular, our group decided to go on a long strenuous hike up Blood Mountain. We ended up talking together for the entire six hour hike as the the rest of the group was either ahead or behind us. The next day rolls around, and I (Abby) receive a text from Austin asking me to go out for coffee. I was absolutely stunned and did not expect the text. However, I could not have been more excited! My naive self thought that my crush on Austin was a secret and that he had no interest in me. From there, we dated for a little over a year until April 23rd when we got engaged on Mt. Yonah (another place we had hiked together)! Thank you to all those who have invested in us individually and together!
