The Hindu Pithi ceremony is a pre-wedding ritual aimed at purifying and beautifying the bride and groom. The ceremony involves applying a paste made of turmeric, sandalwood, and other natural ingredients on the couple's face, arms, and legs. The yellow paste is believed to ward off evil spirits, bring good luck, and enhance their physical beauty.

Both ceremonies start with an invitation to Lord Ganesh to be present at this occasion. His presence is believed to ensure the smooth running of the ceremonies and to remove any obstacles, bringing happiness and prosperity. This is followed by the ceremony of Grah Satak which is performed in presence of the parents and the betrothed along with relatives and friends. The priest will tie Meendhal to the right hand of the betrothed, symbolizing an emblem of purity. Manek Sthumbh - the pillar of gem - is also bestowed at the ceremony, expressing the sign of good luck and wealth. At the end of the Satak, the betrothed's mother's brothers and sister-in-laws (the Mamas and Mamis) along with other relatives bring the Moshaal, the special wedding dresses - the Panetar for the bride and the wedding suit for the groom - together with clothing for the members of the family.

A Baraat is traditionally the groom’s procession into the wedding ceremony. The procession signifies an age-old tradition of the groom who would travel, singing and dancing, to the bride's home. Since both the Bride and Groom have traveled for this union, we're going to break tradition! Join either the Bride or Groom's Barat to celebrate and dance in excitement for the next part of the their lives. The wedding ceremony will immediately follow the Baraat. Traditionally, a Hindu wedding ceremony can last hours, but we've condensed it to an hour and half with some of the most meaningful traditions. We will be providing a detailed program when you arrive that will help you follow along! We've been waiting nine years for this moment!
