As many of you know, Hector and Christine have known (of) each other for more than 10 years! They met years ago when Angelo (Christine's cousin) married Natalia (Hector's sister). Unfortunately, some odd glances would have been given if 22 year old Hector started chatting up 13 year old Christine! Fast forward to January 2016 when Natalia concocted a plan to play matchmaker, and after several calls back and forth, convinced both Christine and Hector this was a great idea! The (semi-blind) date was set for Saturday, February 6th, at Red Sage. Christine's first impressions: I walked into Buffalo Thunder that evening with only a vague idea of who Hector was. Excited and nervous. Hector was already in line to be seated, so I tentatively walked up and said hello. He gave me a huge smile and wrapped me in a big bear hug! It was a great start to an even better evening. We talked for hours at the restaurant, about anything and everything, as if we had spoken like this for years. We still chat all day every day, never running out of things to say. I can't wait to have these conversations for the rest of our lives! Hector's first impressions: I first remember meeting Christine months before our first date and her beautiful smile was imprinted in my mind. When my sister asked me if I wanted to take Christine out on a date I enthusiastically said "YES!". We went to dinner at the Red Sage where we talked and laughed for hours. Each time she smiled she stole away a piece of my heart. It wasn't long before I knew in my heart that I wanted to make her smile for the rest of my life.
"The Delancey Street Foundation New Mexico facility is located in the heart of the San Juan Pueblo (reservation). Purchased in 1976, it’s a 17-acre ranch set in the historically rich Espanola Valley between Santa Fe and Taos. The ranch is Delancey’s only rural home. Adobe buildings surround courtyards with hanging wisteria vines, authentic vegas in the ceilings, and a small “swan lake” surrounded by weeping willows and rose gardens. The beautiful property along with the original sculptures donated by R.C. Gorman and blooming rose gardens help make our ranch a magnificent venue." Visit their website to learn about their amazing mission! www.delanceystreetfoundation.org/facnm.php As both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors in October, the evening can get a bit chilly. We will have heat lamps, and dancing will surely warm you up, but we advise bringing a light coat for the evening.
