It was a chilly evening in the Applebees Bar and Grill parking lot, as I looked out the window of my best friend's car and spotted a big white van. "That's so creepy," I laugh, not realizing it was about to get even creepier. What she said next was both unexpected and spooky. "That's Corbin's car." Oh, wonderful, the boy she's set me up with not only followed me on social media (undenounced to me) for eight years, but he also drives something that should say "free candy inside." We all laughed it off and continued inside, and to my surprise, the boy with the big white van was so much more than just that. Although he refrained from eye contact most of the evening, something inside me whispered, "This is something." As the night came to a close and we were leaving, Emma and Connor pushed me towards the van and said, "You can ride with Corbin!" to which I replied, "I'm not getting in that thing!" all jokes aside I was just nervous to be alone with the boy who had glowing eyes (if you know, you know) and the creepy white van. After a playful struggle, I gave in and climbed inside. We made a few jokes and a small conversation, and all the while, that little voice continued on, "This is something." And as our mothers always say, "Trust that little voice inside." trust I did, through drive-in movie theaters, scorching track days, and all the scary unknowns of new love.
