The #TimKat story began as many modern love stories do - on the apps. Tim and Kate were matched on Hinge one fateful week in May 2022. An exchange of swipes, a “by the way, you’re cute,” and some puns later, and a connection was made. Flash forward to Memorial Day. They had a date for a week later, but after Kate returned from a birthday weekend in the Berkshires, Tim sent the text that would change their futures forever: “I don’t expect you to say yes to this because you’re probably tired from your trip, but since we are both home today would you maybe want to meet up today?” But Kate did say yes, and they met up at the Surfside bar in Salisbury Beach (right across the street from the wedding venue!). Immediately they felt comfortable together - they were able to share some jokes, stories, and vulnerability that normally would not come out so easily on a first date. From day one there was a safe space for each to be themselves. And Tim so boldly (rum might have helped in this) declared to Kate; “I think I’m going to kiss you before the day ends.” And Kate agreed. And they kissed. Many times. :) Over the next two years there were many more great times. Tim became a pet-dad to crazy chihuahuas Tillie and Walter and senior cat Chester Bester (RIP). They moved in together and adopted the brave and sassy cat Louise. From there came many board game nights, crawls around Salem and Portsmouth, Bravo TV binges, karaoke nights (including one infamous dedication), and countless other super fun happy times. Everyone could tell they were “couple goals,” and it was only a matter of time before engagement plans were on paper. Under the codename “Project Mimosa,” Tim along with his and Kate’s best friends planned a covert op for the Most. Romantic. Proposal. Ever. Tim took Kate to a lunch at their favorite special occasion restaurant, and walked her onto the wharf of Salem, Mass where he re-enacted the classic scene in Rocky II where Rocky proposed to Adrian… “What are you doing for the next 40 or 50 years? I was wondering…if you wouldn’t mind marrying me too much.” Kate of course said yes, and their forever was set in stone. And we are all glad it’s still working out.
