Joseph and I met at Winthrop University during our freshmen year of college. We lived in Richardson Hall right down the hall from each other. Freshmen year, we went on a couple of dates but ended up going our separate ways. I would see him frequently around campus and thought about how I would love to go on another date with him but I never had the courage to go up to him. Fast forward to our junior year of college we ended up living next door to each other! I decided then that we were going to be friends again. During a get-together at Joseph's fraternity house, he asked me if I wanted to go to a fraternity alumni dinner with him as "friends" and the rest is history!<3

Joseph and I both grew up living on the water, Joseph lived on the water until college and I lived on the water until third grade! When visiting his family back home I always love walking down to the docks and spending time down there with him. One weekend we decided to go home and visit Joseph's family for Mother's Day. Joseph's mom invited my parents under the pretense that it was for a Mother's Day dinner. That Sunday while getting ready I felt that everyone was acting a little weird but couldn't quite figure out why because I didn't think that a proposal would be coming that weekend! When my parents got there we all said hello and then Joseph's mom told the boys to take my dad down to the docks to show him around while the girls worked on lunch. I told my mom that I wanted to go too and she told me I had to stay and help (which I agreed to but also thought was weird). After a few minutes, Joseph's mom said that we should start walking to meet them down by the water. (This was when I started getting suspicious) Once I saw Joseph standing down on the dock by himself I knew :) It was thoughtful and amazing, and we were surrounded by our family which is exactly what I wanted!!
