Julie first noticed Hanson at a meeting, where she thought to herself “that’s a handsome man” but she remained focused on her reason for being there. Her relationship with God and recovery. Hanson first noticed Julie at a meditation group where he thought to himself “she’s just my type” but he remained focused on his reason for being there. His relationship with God and recovery. Later that night, Julie sent Hanson a friend request on Facebook. Which confirmed to Hanson that Julie noticed him too. A few days passed and Hanson wrote a status about seeing the movie “Sinners” for the third time. Julie was scrolling her Facebook feed at the same time and mistook Hanson’s post for a mutual friend of theirs post, to which she commented “Let’s go see it together again! I loved that movie.” Hanson immediately thought Julie meant with her and a group of their mutual friends so he commented back stating that he would be down to go. Julie was confused as to why Hanson was responding on her friend’s post, until she realized she had actually commented on Hansons post, to which she took the opportunity to make her move. They exchanged a few more comments back and forth, until they took it to Facebook messenger, to which they exchanged phone numbers. From there, they texted for a bit, until Hanson recommended using an app called “Marco Polo” to get to know each other better. Julie said yes and they got to know each other very well over the next week or so through this app. Hanson brought up going to see “Sinners” again to which Julie decided to make another move and advise him that it would only be them two going to the movies together. To which Hanson responded “like a date?” And Julie responded with “yes, like a date.” They set a day to go together and Hanson showed up to her home to pick her up. Showing up with a plant, that she has to this day, and a can of chocolate coffee wafers. They went to the movies together where they shared stories of their past, a lot of laughs, and their first kiss. Which they would both describe as absolute perfection. They both knew from that moment this would continue on. From that day on, they were practically inseparable. Eventually saying “I love you” and slowly piecing their lives into one. Hanson had been saving money for a while to get Julie the most perfect ring. As soon as it was delivered, he took it from the mailbox, rushed to her dad’s house, and asked for his blessing to marry his daughter. To which Julie’s dad gave. Julie was off to meet a friend that night but bad traffic turned Julie’s plans upside down, so she sent Hanson a Marco Polo, telling him she was on the way home. To which he responded frantically, for her to take her time coming back and said that he might need her to stay in the bedroom for a while. Julie got home and was immediately rushed to the bedroom by her son, Gianni, and was told to wait. Then a few moments later, Gianni came back to get Julie and told her to close her eyes as he would lead her. Julie closed her eyes, and Gianni led her to their back porch, he opened the door and there were rose petals all over the ground, balloons galore, a fire going in their fire pit and three roses. First, Hanson gave the first rose to Gianni and thanked him for helping him set up and asked him if he would be okay with him being one of his father figures for the rest of his life, to which Gianni said “yes”, with a big ole smile on his face. Then he told Julie how he felt about her and sang a song he wrote a long time ago to the woman he would one day marry. Then he asked the question, “Will you marry me?” and opened the box, to a gorgeous ring. Julie immediately said “YES!” And kissed him uncontrollably. He then gave her one of the roses and the third was for himself so that they would all have a keepsake from that beautiful, intimate, night. From then on, they’ve fallen more and more in love with each other, while keeping God at the center of their relationship.
