On a rainy night in February 2024, Hanora and Caleb attended a church game night that neither one really wanted to go to. However, because Caleb was bored and Hanora was dragged by a friend, God put them together after someone stole Caleb's seat, making him sit next to Hanora, where they would be introduced. After seeing each other at various church events, Caleb invited her to lunch, during which he found himself attracted to her. Hanora invited him to get coffee with her before another church event, and Caleb, who hated coffee, went to go with her, where she became attracted to him after realizing he just wanted to spend time with and get to know her. Shortly thereafter, they decided to start dating. They grew very close with each other, talking every day and spending as much time together as they could. She would cook lunch for him, and when she was sick or hurt, he would grab all of her favorite drinks, snacks, and food and spend time with her. They grew to love each other quickly and understood that the relationship was progressing towards marriage. In June 2024, Hanora had to fly to India to renew her student visa. She was scheduled to spend a month there, visiting with her family and preparing for her interview, but unfortunately, on the day of her interview, her visa renewal was denied, indefinitely extending her trip to India and keeping her apart from Caleb. She was able to get an interview a few weeks later and was denied a second time, devastating both of them. They didn't know when they would be together again and what the future would look like. Hanora, loving Caleb and not wanting him to suffer, told him that she would understand if he wanted to move on and wanted him to be happy. Caleb responded firmly that there is nobody else for him, that he loved her only, and assured her that they would figure this out together, no matter what it looked like. This made her even more sure of him, and although they couldn't physically be together, they ensured that they made time to talk to each other every day. In September 2024, Caleb began plans to make a trip to India for Hanora's birthday in November, celebrating with her and meeting her family. Being reunited with each other was the happiest both had been since the visa denial, and Hanora's family came to quickly accept Caleb after seeing his love for her and her culture. During the trip, Caleb asked permission from her parents and brother to marry her, and they happily granted it, welcoming him as a son/brother. Caleb returned home and Hanora continued to apply for her visa. In March 2025, she had a fourth visa interview, this one being the final attempt if it was denied again. With this one, they both knew it was unlikely that it would be granted based on her history. However, God works miracles, and He granted Hanora's visa despite all doubts and expectations. Upon hearing this, Caleb started planning the proposal with Hanora's friends. On August 10, 2025, two days before his birthday, Caleb told Hanora that they were going to dinner for his birthday, but had to make a quick detour to a friend's place first to check out their new Airbnb. They got dressed up and headed over, and when they got there, Hanora was distracted by a butterfly and the scenery around her. When she turned back to Caleb, he was down on one knee, holding the ring she always envisioned. With tears streaming down her face and him holding back his tears, they embraced as she accepted his proposal. Just when she thought it couldn't be more perfect, her friends came out of the house, cheering for her and celebrating her proposal after the most unexpected journey. God brought Caleb and Hanora together despite all odds and obstacles. Both agree that their story, though hard and dark at times, couldn't be written more perfectly.
