Some of our favorite tacos & burritos! We recommend snagging a burrito and watching the sunset on the beach. (Multiple locations, be prepared for a little line/wait but great to grab and go.)
EXPLORE: Balboa Park
Beautiful park in the heart of San Diego! There are many museums, art galleries, gardens, and food trucks here. We recommend parking in the "Organ Pavilion" (free) parking lot and walking over to the botanical garden building for the "postcard moment" of San Diego (shown in photo)! Also, the Spanish Village Art Center is right around the corner and is a colorful square filled with local artists.
EXPLORE: Beaches
San Diego has many, many beautiful beaches! Coronado Beach is our favorite, as it's on the stunning Coronado Island, is walking-distance to many shops/restaurants, and even has golden flecks in the water! A few other great options are: Windansea Beach (local favorite), La Jolla Shores Beach (a little touristy, but conveniently in La Jolla), Sail Bay (picturesque area of Mission Bay), and Pacific Beach (surfer vibe with a vibrant selection of beach bars right off the boardwalk)
EXPLORE: San Diego Zoo
A world-renowned zoo, located in Balboa Park. You could spend all day here and still not have seen everything! (Check out the Safari Park for more, including a Mimosa Safari ride).
EXPLORE: Mission Bay
Rent a pontoon boat, jet ski, kayak, power boat, stand-up paddle board, pedal boat, or small sailboat! We recommend renting through Mission Bay Sportcenter–Any powered rentals (pontoon boat, jet ski, etc.) should be booked at least a week in advance to ensure availability, though non-powered rentals (kayaks, SUPs, etc.) should be fine as a walk-up.
