If you know us, you know we’re suckers for a good view, so we each went to SkyLounge Rooftop in Atlanta to spend time with a mutual friend (shoutout to Nathaniel!) and enjoy the gorgeous view of the Atlanta skyline. Nathaniel introduced us that night, and after we met, I don't think either of us glanced at the shining city lights again. We immediately bonded over our love for Jesus, college football, and bourbon (in that order), and somewhere between sips of bourbon and stories from our past, we realized our connection was special, unlike anything either of us had ever experienced before. We talked for hours that evening until the rooftop closed, but the time flew by, and I guess you could say the rest is history! We still consider that night one of the best of our lives.
Joey had been planning a surprise date for weeks. When the day finally arrived, we woke up to the most gorgeous, sunny December day. After touring Boone Hall, where scenes from the Notebook were filmed, we went on a sunset helicopter ride over Charleston, and as we were hovering over the Morris Island lighthouse (my favorite spot in all of Charleston), he popped the question! After we landed, Joey proposed a second time so that he could get down on one knee and honor tradition, and so many happy tears were shed all over again! Shortly after, we went to a rooftop, similar to the one we met on, cried more happy tears, and celebrated our forever.
