FAQs

Question

Where should we fly into?

Answer

There are a few options for flying into Telluride. Telluride Regional Airport (TEX) is just 5 miles away, offering a quick 10-minute drive to/from Telluride but has limited flight options and can be affected by snow/winter weather. Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ), located about 65 miles north, provides more flight options from major hubs and is a 1-1.5 hour scenic drive to/from Telluride. Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO), roughly 130 miles south, is ideal for southern travelers or those seeking a quieter airport, and is a 2.5–3 hour drive to/from Telluride. Shuttles, car rentals, and private transfers are available from all airports to Telluride

Question

Should we stay in Telluride or Mountain Village?

Answer

Telluride sits in the valley, while Mountain Village is located higher up at about 9,500 feet. The free gondola connects the two in a scenic 13-minute ride and our wedding venue, San Sophia Overlook and Allred’s, is located right in between at the top of the mountain at 10,550 feet! Both have plenty of restaurants, shops, and things to do!

Question

What should we wear to the Welcome Party?

Answer

The vibe is Denim & Western! Think jeans, denim jackets, cowboy boots, hats, fringe, or anything with a western flair. Dress comfortably and have fun with it - feel free to go casual or lean into the theme as much as you’d like

Question

What should we wear to the Ceremony?

Answer

The dress code is Black Tie Optional. The ceremony will be held outdoors, so we encourage guests to bundle up with a warm jacket and winter-friendly boots. Please arrive promptly at 5:00 PM to enjoy a warm drink at Allred’s before being escorted to the ceremony. The walk to the ceremony site is approximately 5 minutes uphill and may be snowy, so appropriate footwear is recommended. A designated space will be available to leave jackets and change shoes before the indoor cocktail hour and reception.
