Our love story began on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th, 2022, when fate (and a little help from Hinge) brought us together. Kelly was celebrating with her family in the Outer Banks, while Gregory was in Palm Springs with his. What started as a few lighthearted messages quickly turned into hours of conversation, so much so, that Gregory’s family, noticing how glued he was to his phone, suspected something special was unfolding. Just six days later, we had our first date at the Aster Café in Minneapolis. Outside, snowflakes fell and the air was crisp, but inside, the candlelight and conversation wrapped us in warmth. When Gregory walked in wearing a gray wool coat, Kelly was struck by his kind eyes and warm smile. We talked so long and with such ease that our server had to remind us, several times, that we might want to order dinner. That night ended under a canopy of twinkling lights on the snowy patio, where we shared our first kiss. It was the beginning of something that felt both thrilling and deeply peaceful, a rare combination that told us we had found something true. From that evening on, our rhythm and connection continued to fall into place. We saw each other often, talked every day, and quickly discovered the butterflies were matched by an unshakable sense of comfort. We had found not only love, but home in one another. Today, we share a cozy house in Northeast Minneapolis and the joyful responsibility of parenting our sweet 11-year-old Pomeranian, Keiko. Together, life feels brighter, gentler, and full of warmth, even on the coldest Minnesota days. What a gift it is to walk hand in hand through life’s adventures with your best friend.
