In 2015, Nate came back from med school for winter break and decided to go to a friend’s house to watch Captain America 2. There he met Sarah and was immediately taken to her. Sarah herself was intrigued at this guy paying her so much attention. Two days later, Sarah decided to invite some friends over to celebrate New Years Day at her house by making a Japanese sushi cake. As people slowly left, Nate stuck around and they chatted late into the night. They played board games and laughed into the early morning before Nate had to leave on his flight back to Virginia. This was the beginning of their long distance relationship. As Nate returned back to his fellowship in California in 2021, they were for the first time ever living in the same state. He proposed on April 16, 2022 and they look forward to never having to be long distance ever again. They will be moving to Eau Claire, Wisconsin in August to start their life together.
