After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone our celebration. We are still getting married on May 16th, it will just be a closed ceremony with our immediate family. Dont worry though! We will be live streaming our intimate ceremony on Facebook Live. If you haven’t joined our wedding group on Facebook, let us know and we will be sure to add you! It was 2011. Kelsey and Dustin both lived in Stephenville, Texas. If you ask the bride or groom, neither can give a definite answer on exactly how they met. They both had several mutual friends, so their paths crossing eventually was inevitable. One thing is undeniable though: Dustin had terrible pick-up lines. Kelsey recalls meeting Dustin and him complimenting her on her eyes. She remembers thinking how sweet the comment was, until he followed it up with "But mine are prettier." Dumbfounded, yet intrigued by his confidence, they became good friends. It wasn't love. In fact, a relationship was the farthest thing from both of their minds. Kelsey graduated college and moved away. She eventually started a family. Dustin stayed in Stephenville and continue to excel in his career. The two remained friends and would keep up with each other's endeavors on Facebook. It wasn't until 2018 that the two crossed paths again. Kelsey was living in Glen Rose, raising her daughter. She was in no way interested in starting a new relationship, but Dustin's friendship was familiar and encouraging. Both of them realized that time was exactly what the two needed for a relationship between the two of them to succeed. The rest, as they say, is history.

Kelsey moved to Stephenville over the summer. With things progressing with Dustin, they knew they wanted to move forward from the long-distance relationship they had been used to for the several months prior. The two discussed their future and knew that marriage would eventually be on the table but decided it was best to take baby steps in that direction first. So on a whim, Kelsey decided to see what job opportunities were available in his area. It must have been a part of God's plan, because she was offered a new job, had an offer on her house and found a place to live in Stephenville, all within a single week. Things were really taking off. September 7, 2019: Kelsey had been in Stephenville for a little over two months. With things being fast and furious with the move and getting Makynlee settled into a new school district, the two decided to finally have a well-deserved date night. Dustin picked Kelsey up and they headed to have dinner at Reata in downtown Fort Worth. After dinner, Dustin suggested they walk to the Fort Worth Water Gardens because neither of them had been. Ten long blocks later, they arrived. The view was gorgeous. Dustin then suggested they walk to the bottom the falls. Kelsey resisted. She didn't want to walk to the bottom of the wet rocks in fear of slipping and falling, but Dustin was persistent. So off they went, Kelsey shaking every step down. They made it to the bottom, and Kelsey thought to herself "Good. We made it, now we can go back up." She turned around and there Dustin was, getting down on one knee, asking if she would let him spend the rest of his life with her and Makynlee as one family. She couldn't get the words out quick enough. YES - a thousand times YES! To make the moment even sweeter, Dustin hired a photographer to hide and take photos of the entire ordeal. It was definitely a moment to remember.
