We Couldn't Stay Away From Eachother

Ben: From my vantage point, Gloria has always been there. We met through mutual friends about a decade ago and have continually engaged with one another. It wasn't until a few years ago that we became the closest of friends. After Gloria and our close friend moved into my congregation, that's when I noticed more of her amazing spiritual qualities. She really lived up to her stellar reputation. I thought it to be the right time to pursue her, but I was not ready. She continued to be a great friend. After some time we decided to revisit our potentially greater relationship. The rest, as they say, is history. Glo: Benaiah and I have known one another for about 10 years. I remember my first encounter with him was at a mutual friends house. I remember talking with him about his job at the post office. I just remember feeling really comfortable with him. Which is remarkable because I was usually super shy when it came to talking to guys. That has been the hallmark of our relationship. Just comfortable. After that encounter, we would see one another at various gatherings and speak to one another. I learned that between that time he asked two of our mutual friends about me. He "claims" he doesn't remember asking them. But says he could see that he would. In 2018, I had a friend come into town and I was thinking of who to invite to a gathering I was having for her. As I thought of some of my guy friends to invite, I thought, "Why have Ben and I never hung out? He seems cool. As a matter of fact, why don't I have his number?" So, I told my brother to invite him to the gathering. He comes. Oh and he asked for my number that night. A few of us make plans to hang out Monday with my visitor. So Monday comes and we all start the day off at Jagged Fork. After that we went to play pool, get some shawarmas, and some more going around town. We spent almost 24hrs with each other. It was so much fun! I couldn't believe how things just flowed. I felt at ease around Benaiah. I could be myself! Which unfortunately, I could never be myself around many people. Many people saw me as shy and timid. Only my close friends and family saw my true (wonderful) self. :) It felt good for me to feel comfortable enough to be myself around him. After that day, we texted each other every day. We had wonderful conversations. Our friendship just blossomed as the days passed. I loved his honesty and transparency. After a certain point, we recognized we liked one another, A LOT! But, it was bad timing; so we TRIED being just friends. Our ministry days were the same. He was out Wednesdays and many didn't come out since it was our meeting day. So, we got to spend a lot of time with one another in the ministry. I describe my relationship with Benaiah as a magnet. Whenever we are close to one another, we can't stay apart for long. That has been us for the past 4 years. Imagine trying to separate a magnet. It’s tough. June 2021, we stopped fighting it. And I’ve enjoyed every single day being with this man! Thanks Jehovah!

What I Love About HIm/Her

Gloria: I love his prayers to Jehovah. He talks to Jehovah how I talk to my mother. He is so in depth and it's wonderful to observe the relationship he has with Jehovah God. I love talking to Jehovah! Benaiah's example encourages me to do even better with my prayers. Benaiah: I absolutely love Gloria's positively infectious attitude. It's pervasive in a way that's so endearing, so uplifting, you can't help but smile after being around her. I love how she takes care of others, always selflessly seeing how to improve others outlook on life. She has one of the most glowing spirits a person can have. She's this way because she is God-oriented, a spiritual woman. She loves Jehovah more than anything else, and that's what makes me love her. (Plus she kinda likes me.) 😊
