We met through our church community, Damascus Road Tucson. We became friends through our mutual friend Kara Walton and our mutual love of boardgames. At the start of our friendship, Jon had mentioned never seeing Avatar the Last Airbender and as an avid fan of the show, I (Karen) knew that had to change. It was amidst spending time, playing games, and watching this show together, we realized our feelings for one another. For our first date, we had tacos and went to Tucson's festival of lights in Winterhaven. We had so much fun walking around the neighborhood and seeing all of the Christmas lights, it was truly magical! After the first date, Jon asked if I would be his girlfriend, and after a year and a half of dating, we completed pre-engagement counseling through our church. Now, here we are getting married! We are truly blessed to have found one another and are so excited to spend our lives together as one.
