We met through mutual friends during our junior year of college. Joe was interested. Liz thought he was too nice. Cue a few months of sweet messages, walks around UConn, dinosaur chicken nuggets, and cheap red wine. Liz played hard to get but Joe is simply too good of a guy to pass up. The rest is history.
After sushi dinner (my favorite), Joe started driving back to his parent’s house in Southbury. He started making wrong turns and the gig was up. I couldn’t stop laughing the rest of the drive. We pulled up to the land trust where we first met and walked down the grassy path to the wooden platform that overlooks the marsh. The night we met I remember sitting on that platform watching fireflies for hours. Before Joe got down on one knee, he told me to turn around and see who was there. To my surprise our friend Morgan had traveled all the way from Massachusetts to photograph our engagement. I was so surprised and so excited! After Joe proposed, we went back to his parents’ house to find friends and family waiting to celebrate with us. It was the perfect way to celebrate, surrounded by those who love us. It was a night we’ll never forget, and we cannot wait to make more unforgettable memories with you all!
