We introduced ourselves online (Bumble to be exact), as we reminisced about our middle school and high school days. We decided that ice cream would be fun, simple, and delicious, and made it a date. Nick was bowling with family and was running late, which made Jessica hesitant to go out. After deliberation, Jessica picked Nick up and drove to Sundaes. Jessica and Nick both ordered soft serve vanilla with rainbow sprinkles (great minds think alike). While enjoying ice cream in the car, and hitting it off so well, we wanted to keep the conversation and fun going, and headed to the boardwalk. We walked up and down the boardwalk and made the choice to play mini golf. Nick ended up winning, only after betting that if he shot a hole-in-one, that he would get a kiss...turns out Nick is not as good of a shot as he thinks and missed. We ended the night laughing and Jessica dropped Nick home with smile. We couldn't wait to see each other again soon.
Nick invited Jessica to his cousin's birthday party, in which she would meet more of his family (after previously being introduced to his grandparents the weekend before...at the spur of the moment). Eager and nervous (and in Jessica fashion), she encouraged Nick to be prompt, and ended up being the first ones at the party. After being introduced to the birthday boy, Nick's grandmother (Nanny Joyce) walked through the door and Jessica was her new best friend. Nanny Joyce started introducing Jessica to everyone else, and to her surprise, as "Nick's girlfriend". Jessica and Nick spent the afternoon joking around, celebrating family, and smiling. As Nick drove Jessica home, she asked about the introductions made by his grandmother. And Nick's response, "So, I thought we were already dating". Who needs to ask when things feel so natural?
After the loss of Nick's childhood dog, Baxter, we knew that we wanted to open our home to a furry friend. We spent months discussing what kind of dog we wanted and landed on rescuing a pup in need. We looked through various organizations, and found All Fur One Pet Rescue. Just as Jessica was hesitant to go out with Nick, she was hesitant to bring home a pet. When we went to meet Loki (formally known as Adore), Loki looked at Jessica through the window, and his eyes stole Jessica's heart. Once meeting, the bond and love were strong, and Loki entered our home and hearts forever.
