How We Met

12.02.2012

We met at a fraternity party in December of 2012 while Brandi was out with her sorority sisters and Bobby was enjoying the night with his fraternity brothers. Our mutual friends were determined to have us meet. That night we met for the first time, and the rest, as they say, is history! Over the days and weeks that followed the fraternity party, we made sure to chat with each other on facebook and eventually exchanged numbers. I think it was fate, but the week after the fraternity party we ran into each other at a restaurant and following that night made plans to go bowling, see a movie, and hang out as much as possible. We were inseparable! After the years of fraternity parties, birthdays, travels, and long distance relationship (for two years!), We both knew we were meant to be together. Brandi packed up all her belongings and moved out to Colorado in 2018 to spend the winter season with Bobby, and in that moment we both knew that was the beginning of our future together. We could not be more excited to celebrate the next step in our journey with each of you, who have played (and will continue to play) such an important part in our adventure together!

The Proposal

5.23.2019

On Thursday, May 23rd, Bobby informed me that we were going to a nice dinner that night and I needed to dress for the occasion. In the back of my mind, I had a feeling I knew what was going to take place that night and had even been talking to my friends Blair and Chuck all week about how nervous I was and had no clue what to wear! I got home after work that day, put on my favorite yellow dress, and got ready for our date night together! At this time I had no idea where we were going as Bobby didn't want to tell me and wanted it to be a surprise. We started driving and Bobby pulled up and parked at the top of Libby Hill, a spot where you can see the bend in the river and it's what Richmond was named after! We got out of the car and just started walking around because, apparently, we were early for dinner ;) After walking down the sidewalk for a bit and talking about the history of Richmond and how happy we were to be there, Bobby abruptly stopped, turned to me, and started talking. I immediately knew what was happening and could not control my tears! The only thing I remember him saying is "Are you ready?!" as he got on one knee and then asked me to be his wife! We had friends taking pictures, shared a picnic together and spent so much time laughing, smiling and soaking in being newly engaged. But wait... there's more! After dinner, and multiple attempts to contact my family, we drove to his moms apartment where she wanted to see us and look at the ring and celebrate. As we arrived, she greeted us at the door and wanted to take us to the 10th floor with the best views to take pictures. As I got out of the elevator and looked through the glass door of the 10th floors sky lounge, I saw the reason my family didn't answer my calls. THEY WERE ALL THERE TO SURPRISE ME! I was so surprised and spent the night with the biggest smile on my face talking with family and friends that are so near and dear to our hearts.
