Carly and Joey both attended the University of Colorado Boulder where they both decided to join a business club. One spooky Halloween night, this club threw a party. Carly and Joey had seen each other around but had exchanged nothing but a few words. Then at the stroke of 10pm, Joey decided to walk over to Carly and strike up a conversation. Carly was dressed as Tom Cruise from Risky Business and Joey was dressed as his twin brother (aka himself). While Carly was not impressed with his creativity, she was swept away by his dad jokes and Canadian charm. From that night on, Joey and Carly were inseparable.
As with most things in life, things don't go as planned. Joey's proposal plan was no exception. Joey had been planning the proposal for months and decided to do it on a romantic weekend trip in Vail, CO. But of course, Carly gets sick and the whole trip is cancelled. Back into planning mode, Joey decides to do it on a day trip to Breckenridge, CO a few weeks later. Lightening strikes again, and it is opening day for skiing and the town is packed. All plans go out the window, and Joey can't find that "perfect" spot, so a blissfully unaware Carly and a very nervous Joey head home. Joey has not given up just yet, so he pops some champagne, turns on some music and dances with Carly in the kitchen. During a perfect spin, Joey gets down on one knee, and like any romantic law student would do, he asks Carly "will you agree to marry me?" Carly, slightly distracted by the legal jargon, accepts the verbal offer and the contract was formed. So here we are!
