Similar to most modern romances, we met on a dating app in the summer of 2019. Eric had a full lineup of dates set for the following week, but our date was scheduled in the primetime Saturday night spot. After arriving 15-20 minutes late (which Chelsea later learned was "early"), Eric finally made it to the bar and we hit it off immediately. We stayed out chatting about anything and everything until around 2am, and within two days we already made plans to see each other again. After staying in constant contact while Chelsea was in Europe for 10 days that summer, we knew we had something special and the rest was history!
On Valentines Day 2020, Eric bought Chelsea a gift card for a couples cooking class but sadly one month later Covid shut down the world. Nearly two years later, we finally decided to book the "Hands-On Steakhouse" class. Once we were done, Eric suggested we head to a rooftop bar along the river to close out the night. On the way he insisted we take the scenic route on the Riverwalk, even though Chelsea was convinced the Riverwalk was closed for the night. On our walk, Eric stopped to point out one of the buildings lit up at night, and as we were looking, he got down on one knee and popped the question. It was an easy "yes," and we spent the weekend celebrating with friends and family thanks to Eric's secretive master planning.
