Our paths crossed at a party at The College of William and Mary. Matt's dance moves were incredible (still are), I asked for his number, and by the next day we had a date to watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off together. After that day, we were inseparable. The rest, they say, is history.
At around 10 am, Matt disappeared and left a note and a rose for me to find. The note said that I would be picked up at 3 pm and that he had a question to ask me. Little did I know that while I was anxiously pacing my apartment for 5 hours, he was in the middle of planning something incredible. At 3 pm, I was surprisingly picked up by one of their dear college friends, Becca. She lives out of town so this was already a wonderful surprise. I was taken to the lakeside area of campus and surprised by the rest of our college friends. With hundreds of flowers lining a wooded pathway, Matt appeared dressed as Bruce Springsteen, with guitar and all. In all of his charismatic glory, he began singing Born to Run. There were a lot of tears and laughter. After the proposal and the conclusion of the song, our friends showered us in confetti. Matt did a great job of integrating our love of friends, music, and the importance of where we first met. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you soon for the big day!
