Charleston’s most visited plantation was named by Travel + Leisure Magazine as having one of America’s most beautiful gardens. Unlike many historic gardens that are more formal in nature, you’ll find these blend in with the natural beauty surrounding the plantation.
The Boathouse is technically not in Charleston. It’s actually about 25 minutes east on Isle of Palms, but we wanted to include it in case you’re up for a little drive. The Boathouse is fun and casual. It’s right on Breach Inlet and they have a rooftop bar that is perfect for spotting dolphins and watching the sunset.
Many bars and restaurants line the banks of Shem Creek, each offering a casual atmosphere for dining, drinks, and watching beautiful sunsets on the creekside.
