October 1, 2018 was the day Emily started her first big girl job. She was so excited when she walked into her general orientation class. She sat in the middle row on the right side of the room, eager to start her new job. Before lunch break, the new hires were told they would meet with their managers and supervisors for lunch (yikes). They called the new hires one by one to meet their supervisors. “Emily Clark Ground Transport!” (OOF). “Andrew Francis Ground Transport!” Emily thought to herself, “Ok good, another person in my department, sweet.” … “Holy s*** he’s tall.” They then sat with the supervisors for lunch. Emily wouldn’t talk she was too nervous, but Andrew was more open to them, talking about his main job at Campbell County and his goals in EMS. Their field training was scheduled, and it was a good first day. Fast forward to December 2018, Emily and Andrew were working a shift together. They had some CRAZY experiences that day. Emily played her top tier song playlist and jammed most of the day with Andrew sitting there quietly in the driver seat. Later on in their relationship, Andrew told Emily that he thought she was super weird and had terrible music taste when they first started working together (RUDE). At the end of the shift Emily got bold and said, “Hey, do you have a Snapchat?” and took Andrew’s phone to put her username in it. After that day, they talked every single day and Emily started falling hard for him. The first week of November 2019 was the weekend of the EMS Symposium in Norfolk. Emily and Andrew were both going and actually had some classes together. One night after eating at Blue Moon Taphouse together with some friends, they went walking on the boardwalk together. Emily grabbed Andrew’s arm and started skipping with him. He is not coordinated and almost fell. He finally stopped Emily and grabbed her hand and they walked hand and hand down the rest of the boardwalk then to her hotel. He made sure she made it safe and then walked the 3 blocks back to his hotel. He did not kiss Emily much to her dismay, but from that day, their feelings for each other was evident and no longer hidden. On November 27, 2019 they made it official on Facebook and the rest is history. Andrew proposed to Emily in December 2021 in front of the Rockefeller Tree in New York City and she couldn’t stop smiling and laughing to say yes, but eventually did ;). From that first day of Emily putting her Snapchat username in Andrew’s phone, they have maintained a Snapchat streak of roughly 1600 and will have a streak of around 1800 by the wedding day. They have currently traveled to 6 states together with the 7th at the end of November to get on a cruise for their honeymoon. They have plans to travel to Louisiana to watch the LSU Softball team play and to Alaska in 2024 (!!!!!) (Emily is very excited about Alaska). One of their main travel goals is to go to Switzerland in the winter of 2025. In May of 2022 they bought their first home and have loved every minute of it. Living life together has been effortless, fun, and filled with unwavering love for one another. They are very excited for their future together as Mr. and Mrs. Francis.
