In my second year of showing livestock, Forrest bought and gave a pig to me as a memorial he did for a family friend that had passed away at a young age. Both his family and mine grew closer from that point forward, and the rest is history. Let's just say that showing livestock together seems to be the bond that forms relationships in this family as that is how Forrest's parents and mine met as well!
We were one day away from heading to the PA Farm Show. Everyone was busy running errands and packing to go. However, Forrest had bigger plans. He sent me to town with a big to-do list, while he was supposed to be shearing sheep. Much to my surprise, when I returned, Forrest was in the barn down on one knee with sparkly lights, sheep on the stands, and ear tags to go in each one that said "Will You Marry Me?" Of course, I said yes! How could anyone resist?
