Grace and Eric first crossed paths at Cal Poly in January of 2017 when their friends, Claudia and Dugan, set them up at a blind date party. The night started off on the wrong foot, as Eric was an hour late to the pre-game and only met Grace as everyone was leaving for the party. Throughout the night Eric got back in Grace's good graces as they bonded over shared love of music, football, and being naive college kids. The night ended up going so well that Eric decided to ask Grace to come over to watch her favorite football team, the New York Giants, play the following week. In Grace's mind, this was clearly an attempt at being romantic since he knew that was her favorite team. Eric, on the other hand, had limited experience in what you'd call "romance" and did not realize Grace wasn't expecting to be watching the game at his fraternity house with 5 other guys. Despite this blundered attempt at a first date, Grace somehow decided he was worth it and they began dating shortly after. They dated for a time in college, but parted ways senior year, only to realize that life made a lot more sense (and was way more fun) together. They reunited in 2019, this time at a San Francisco Giants game instead of New York Giants game, and began dating again shortly after, both living in the bay area. However, towards the end of COVID, life tossed them into a long-distance adventure, with Eric moving to Seattle for work and Grace settling in San Francisco. Despite the miles and questionable WiFi, their love thrived. Eventually, Eric came to his senses and moved in with Grace in San Francisco, where they’ve been happily living together for the past 2.5 years—alongside their two cats, who graciously allow them to share the apartment.
