Question

WILL THERE BE DANCING ?

Not only will there be dancing, it is mandatory to participate

Question

SHOULD I BRING A GIFT TO THE WEDDING

Answer

As you are all travelling to attend our big day, your presence is the only gift we need. However, if you are so inclined, please would you donate a small amount to my mother who is in need of all the help she can get

Question

CAN I TAKE PICTURES AND/OR POST PHOTOS OF YOUR WEDDING ON SOCIAL MEDIA ?

Answer

At the request of our photographers and to best enable them to do their duties, should you wish to take photos of yourselves at the reception, please feel free, so long as your flashes do not interfere with theirs

Question

ARE THERE ANY VACCINATIONS I NEED PRIOR TO TRAVELLING OR ANY OTHER PRACTICAL MEDICAL ADVICE TO BE AWARE OF ?

Answer

While it is unlikely you’ll be exposed to harmful pathogens, the CDC does recommend certain vaccines for travel to Sub-Saharan African countries. You should plan to start vaccines 6 weeks prior to travel. See: wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/south-africa. Another thing to be aware of: while the food, wine and water are very safe (and delicious!) in South Africa, some of our overseas guests have on occasion had trouble adjusting their bellies to all of the exciting new tastes. As such, we do recommend discussing with your doctor what precautionary measures you can bring along. Medical care is excellent & readily available in South Africa, should you require it. As with traveling to any country, it is advisable to carry traveler's insurance for the unlikely event of an emergency. Be sure to fill any prescriptions you may need prior to traveling, too.

Question

A NOTE OF SAFETY

Answer

Many of you have expressed concerns about the high crime rates in South Africa and some of the news you have been seeing. While you will likely not be in many of the areas most heavily affected, common sense safety precautions you would employ in any big city are helpful to adhere to. Should you have any specific safety concerns, please feel free to address them directly with us. We are confident that everyone will have a safe and enjoyable trip, and love South Africa much as we do!
