Saint Louis University Billiken basketball game - January 19, 2013. Jessica was working the game in the Billiken Club, Jake was attending the game with friends. We met at halftime through mutual friends, and then watched the Billikens lose to URI. Afterwards, we met at a bar with lots of friends around to commiserate the loss. After Talayna's and Courtesy Diner, the rest is history!

Our first day of the Eurotrip, 4 hours into the trip, Jake proposed in Hofgarten, Munich, Germany. After a long flight, dropping our stuff at the hotel, and walking around the city, we "stumbled" upon Hofgarten. Jake grabbed Jessica's hand and walked up the path. All Jessica could think was he was holding her hand too tight. After Jessica asked Jake what kind of flowers the purple ones were and he didn't know, she turned to ask her friend, Colleen, if she knew. When she turned back around, Jake was down on one knee! Completely shocked, it took Jessica a moment to respond, but eventually she said Yes! All of the proposal was caught on camera (video and photos) by friends Shelly, Dom, and Colleen. Little did Jessica know, Jake told friends in October 2018 that he wanted to propose on the trip. And they kept the secret for the entire year! Jake even told Ali and Leo.
