How We Met

10.2018

Remember when someone told you, "Your Mom is always right"? Well, she is and I hate to admit it. Nate and I met for the first time around October of 2018 when I started taking care of his Grandpa. This is where it all began, one of those times when God puts you in a place for a reason but you're not sure why and just go with it. My mom always would ask me, "What about Harris' grandson, why won't you date him"? Almost 3 years later, after a really hard time in my life, Nate was there to pick up the pieces and help me put myself back together. He never left my side, he did everything he could to take care of me and I knew at that time that all of this happened for a reason. Everything Nate did, I could see Harris through him. Now we are creating our greatest love story!

The Proposal

08.07.2022

We took a long weekend camping trip up to Munising, MI. We had plans to do all of the 'tourist' things such as a boat tour of Pictured Rocks, hiking some trails, eating pasties, and seeing the shipwrecks. Little did I know what Nate's real plan was during this trip! On the second to last day, we did the glass bottom boat tours of all the shipwrecks in Munising Bay. It was a cold, windy, and rainy August day but we were going to make the best of it. Well try anyways, but if you know me- I don't do well on boats, especially if its windy which creates large waves. Nate assured me I would be fine the whole tour as I held back the nausea and tried to enjoy it. Thank goodness the captain decided it wasn't safe to keep going and we turned around after half of the trip to head back to shore. LOL I had never been so happy to feel the ground beneath my feet but also just wanted to go back to the camper and sleep it off. Nate begged me to go back out on the dock, and I knew something was up when he didn't want to leave as I was sick. I braved it, trying not to watch the huge waves crashing in to the docks. People were probably wondering what these 2 tourists were doing walking back out onto the dock in the cold, windy weather. As I turned around to ask why or what we were doing out here, I seen Nate down on one knee with a ring in his hand asking me to be his Wife! At that moment all the sickness went away and emotions took over. I immediately said, "YES!, but lets get off the dock" LOL
