Erin: In May 2018 I joined a dance studio after being encouraged by some friends who took classes there. I was introduced to their friend Marian, and instantly liked his personality. I remember my first dance with him was fun (it was Salsa), he was laughing, smiling and made me feel at ease even when I made a few mistakes. We were in the same friends group for several years, seeing each other often at dance events and classes. The COVID pandemic quarantine was the catalyst to bring us closer together. A small group of us dance friends became close during that time, with Zoom chats lasting hours every Saturday night, and we were all in the same "bubble" if we met together outside or for single partner dancing. Marian and I lived near each other and sometimes we'd get together in his backyard to spend time with another person instead of isolation. Over time, friendship became feelings of "more than friends," and we eventually moved forward into official relationship. It has been sweet to have that friendship basis first. After ~1.5 years, Marian proposed! We got married in a small ceremony in December 2022, and married life has been wonderful together thus far. We are having this renewal of vows and reception as a CELEBRATION with all of you people who are close in our lives. We look forward to celebrating with you!
