We met in the fall of 2005 at RT's, a bar on The Strip at the University of Tennessee. We realized we both were from Northern Virginia and were both huge football fans. Specifically, the Vols as Wes was on the team at the time. We also shared a love for our home team, the Redskins. We dated casually throughout the school year, but went our separate ways over summer. Wes moved back to Virginia and Erika later moved to Miami. Despite the distance, we would keep in touch checking in on each other every once in a while. In 2013, Erika decided to move back to Virginia from Miami. Leading up to the move we communicated on a more regular basis and grew closer. Wes won Erika over as we both share a strong love for music. We both shared different songs with each other leading up to Erika's move home. Erika had planned to find a new job in New York continuing her career in event planning, but that plan changed quickly. Wes and Erika reunited at Tuscarora High School in Leesburg, VA. Wes volunteered as a coach at the time and had asked Erika to come watch a game. We picked right back up and the rest was history. Wes proposed to Erika on December 21, 2018 at one of our very favorite places, The Salamander Resort in Middleburg, VA. It was just the two of them in front of a beautifully lit Christmas tree outside the front of the resort. It was perfect!
