What is the dress code?

Answer

Beach formal! This means that ladies are welcome to wear cocktail or casual floor-length dresses, and gentlemen are welcome to wear suits. No tuxes or very formal gowns required.

What will the weather be like in Cabo in January?

Answer

In January, temperatures in Cabos are usually between 65 and 70 degrees and sunny. The humidity is usually between 55% and 60%. We hope that our wedding weekend will be a welcome break from winter if you are traveling from somewhere chilly!

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

The main airport serving Los Cabos is the Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), which is 16 miles from JW Marriott. A 35-minute scenic drive from the airport!

I want to explore Cabo. How should I plan to get around town?

Answer

Uber is widely available in Cabo, and we highly recommend using it. For example, a trip to downtown San Jose del Cabo from the JW Marriott should run about $5 to $10 USD. Alternatively, there are taxis available at the airport and most resorts (including the JW Marriott) are able to call you a taxi.

Can I take an Uber from the airport to the JW Marriott?

Answer

No. Uber drivers do not currently have access to pick passengers up from the airport. So, we highly recommend that you make prior arrangements for airport pick-up and drop-off either through our Transcabo link (found on the accommodations page!) or through the JW Marriott. Taxis are also available at the airport but they do not accept credit card payments; cash only.

Travel requirements?

Answer

All US travelers must have a valid US passport for return travel to the US with a minimum of six 6-month validity.

Pesos? USD? How do I pay for things in Cabo?

Answer

US dollars are widely accepted in most of the resorts and restaurants, as well as Visa and MasterCard. However, American Express is accepted in only a few businesses and the JW Marriott generally will not accept cash payment in US dollars. American checks are not accepted in Los Cabos. Finally, most of the ATMs will provide you only pesos. Make sure that you contact your bank before you visit Mexico to inform them of your trip so they do not block your credit cards! Pro tip: When you can, it's best to pay in pesos when making a credit card payment in Cabo. The exchange rate will be in your favor!

What time zone is Cabo in?

Answer

Los Cabos is on Mountain Standard Time (1 hour ahead of Pacific Standard Time; 2 hours behind Eastern Standard Time).

I want to know where to go in case of emergency.

Answer

Great question! The closest hospital - recommended by the US embassy with English speaking physicians - is H+ Hospital in San Jose del Cabo, about 15 minutes away from the JW Marriott.
