In the middle of COVID times, Jay and Emma met as many couples did--online. After a few Hinge messages back and forth, Jay asked Emma out to his favorite outdoor bar. It was pouring rain, but it was a good time anyway. After 4 socially distanced dates, Jay got a COVID test to make Emma dinner at his apartment.

On a belated anniversary celebration, Emma and Jay went up to see the snow at Mt. Hood. They snowshoed up to Mirror Lake and were admiring the mountain view when Jay knelt down on one knee right there in the snow. Emma cried and kept using the word "fiance" all the way down the mountain. It was perfect.
