Charleston City Market
The Charleston City Market is the perfect daytime outdoor activity in downtown Charleston for those who want to shop local vendors and walk the main downtown streets of Charleston! The Market is open daily 9:30am-5:30 pm. While parking can be found in many spots within downtown Charleston, there are some recommended nearby parking garages: Church Street Garage, Hassel Street Garage, and Cumberland Street Garage. Everything in downtown Charleston is very walkable so if you enjoy walking, we always recommend that as the first option!
Magnolias
Magnolia's is one of our favorite restaurants to take visitors who want to get some delicious southern cooking! If you are in town before or after the wedding we highly recommend giving them a try. Brunch, lunch and dinner are all delicious options here. Magnolia's is on the nicer end of our restaurant recommendations so we also recommend dressing upscale casual if you choose the check it out! You will almost definitely need a reservation here so get one ahead of time if you are interested, they can fill up very quickly!
Shem Creek
Shem Creek is one of our favorite areas in the greater Charleston Area to grab some food/drinks while enjoying some BEAUTIFUL water views. There are many different restaurants and bars along the creek (all walkable along the docks) and you really can't go wrong with any of them. We have provided the address to the parking garage we frequent when we go for those who have cars. Shem Creeks is located in Mount Pleasant, so it is not walkable from the downtown hotels and therefore will require a drive/uber to get over there. Here are some recommended spots on Shems Creek, but again you cannot really go wrong as long as you are there to enjoy the views and vibes! Recommendations: Red's Ice House (no reservations), Saltwater Cowboys (no reservations), Muddy's (for drinks), Tavern and Table (seated dinner)
