This quaint community is the location of our wedding, and there is much more to do outside of the hotel! Shops, restaurants - and even a public market!
Point Defiance Park
Point Defiance Park is a large urban park that includes Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Rose Garden, Rhododendron Garden, beaches, trails, a boardwalk, a boathouse, a Washington State Ferries ferry dock for the Point Defiance-Tahlequah route to Vashon Island, Fort Nisqually, an off-leash dog park, and most notably about 400 acres of old-growth forest.
Vashon Island
If you have a free day, you can take a day trip to Vashon Island on ferry, using the Point Defiance-Tahlequah route. Note: you will most likely need a car for this to navigate on Vashon Island, as I don't believe Ubers are very prevalent on the island.
McMenamins Elks Temple
McMenamins is a family-owned company based in the Pacific Northwest that operates a collection of unique pubs, breweries, restaurants, hotels, event venues, and movie theaters, often within restored historic buildings. This location has 4 different bars & a hidden speakeasy!
