Flight
Flying to the wedding
There are several airports in the Bay Area. We recommend flying to San Jose International Airport (SJC) for the shortest commute between an airport and Santa Cruz. If you plan to fly in to San Francisco (SFO), you may need to anticipate spending more time in the airport, as well as a longer drive. We also recommend renting a car if you fly in, as it still takes about an hour to drive from San Jose to Santa Cruz. There are two main routes you can take over the mountains into Santa Cruz: Highway 17 is faster, but busier and sometimes traffic can slow you down. Highway 9 is a longer, winding route, that takes you through redwood forests and a few of the mountain towns in the San Lorenzo Valley.
