Emily Noah and I met for the first time at a church tailgate party. It was very brief, but we had a few friendly conversations over the following months. I served singing on the worship team on stage and he worked at the sound booth every service. We had both been at the church for over a year and did not notice each other, even though we were constantly in each other's line of sight! It was the right time for both of us and we know it was not a coincidence but perfectly laid out by God. By about the third conversation, I started to see him differently and undeniably had a crush on him. What stood out to me was our initial conversations. It was easy to talk to him and I wanted to get to know him more. What confirmed it for me was when he asked me out unexpectedly, and I was nervous but excited. We went bowling and had ice cream and spent hours just talking. Nearly two years later and here we are, about to take the next step in Gods plan for our lives
Noah I had spent about 9 months fake proposing to her in random places. The mall, a restaurant, walking down the street, no place was too odd for me to get down on one knee and pretend to tie my shoe, no ring necessary. We started planning a trip to Puerto Rico with some of our family, at which point I told myself that it would be a great place to propose to Emily. I didn’t know when exactly I was going to do it, but I knew I’d figure it out along the way. On the 4th day of our vacation, we had a blast. We went scuba diving in the morning which was a surreal experience and then parasailing in the afternoon which was one of the most peaceful and relaxing things you could ever do. And what better way to top off a fun, adventurous day than with the ultimate surprise at the end? I brought her to a fountain in Old San Juan, told her that it was about time I stopped joking around asking her to marry me, got down on one knee… and well, the rest is history.
