Katie - "We first met in August 2012, at Indian Creek High School while playing tennis. I managed for the boy’s tennis team, getting them water and practicing with them every day. We knew of each other and talked a little in passing. Then he managed the girl’s tennis team his senior year, and I remember he NEVER got us water (which I gave and still give him hard time for) and gave us little pep talks during our matches." Elliott - “Fast forward to 2016, I’m attending college at IUPUI. Walking across campus one day, I saw Katie walking in my direction. So, I stop to say hi and ask how she’s been. But we were both in a hurry and kept it brief. Then in 2017, I was at a mutual friend’s house and his girlfriend mentioned Katie was coming over that night for a bonfire. I mentioned to them that I had a little crush on her since high school.” Katie - “So I went to my friend’s house for a bonfire and Elliott was there. The whole night I suspected something was up because my friends were pushing Elliott and I together with conversation and seating arrangements. I was very shy and nervous though and kept trying to avoid him. They invited us to multiple bonfire’s after that and on the third one, Elliott waited around for me until I left.” Elliott - “I had a long drive ahead of me to go to Paris, Illinois and Katie FINALLY decided to leave the bonfire around 2 AM! I walked her out to her car and asked her for her number. She put her number in my phone, but then as we were leaving it never got saved and I lost it. I had to get her number back from our mutual friend. So, I guess I waited the appropriate amount of time before texting her (3 days later). And now here we are!”
