Nick started a Facebook "poke" war with Elizabeth, which she then "poked" him back. Nick then messaged her and suggested making a bet about who would win the war. We settled on loser buys ice cream (because we both Love ice cream). Upon the agreement, Nick immediately surrendered the war, "because what better excuse is there to surrender than going to get ice cream with someone gorgeous?" - Nick. Our first date happened later that week, and we indeed go and get ice cream at Scoops!

I had been thinking about spending my life with Nick for awhile, and thinking about how amazing our life would be and how much I loved who he was and who he would become and I didn't see the need to wait for him to propose (when you know, you know). Nick was leaving for work that morning and I thought to myself, why wait any longer? So i quickly grabbed a sheet of note paper and a sharpie, and wrote out "Marry Me" on the paper. He had already gone down to his car, so I banged on our window that overlooked the parking lot and held up the sign when he turned to look. He immediately came running back up to our apartment and yelled "yes!" as he came running through the door. ☺️💕
