Old Arcade (Gertie's Gifts)
The Old Arcade Trading Company is one of the largest stores in Silverton, Colorado! The building holds a variety of unique souvenirs, from collectibles, postcards, cowboy hats, colorful adult and children's Colorado t-shirts and sweatshirts, toys, and of course everyone's favorite, fresh homemade fudge. (Ellie once worked here for a summer in Silverton)

Christ of the Mines Shrine Hike
This is a 2-mile hike that lets you get a great view of Silverton. When in Silverton, folks should be able to see the Shine opposite of Kendall Moutain while walking around town.

The Old Hundred Gold Mine Tour is a guided mine tour that takes you 1/3 mile into the heart of 13,000 foot Galena Mountain where you can follow the vein and see real mining equipment in action! Go underground and experience the secret world of the gold miner! Located just minutes from the historic town of Silverton, the Mine Tour is easily accessible by car and RV.

Ouray Hot Springs
The Ouray Hot Springs is an amazing place to go for relaxation & rejuvenation. The hot springs are a 40 minute drive from Silverton, CO. Would recommend this activity if you have a spare day, or if you want to get some relaxation in while traveling back home. (Highly recommended before any long plane rides)
Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
This historic train has been in continuous operation between Durango and Silverton since 1882, carrying passengers behind historic steam and diesel locomotives and rolling stock indigenous to the line. The line was constructed to haul silver & gold ore from Southwest Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, but passengers soon realized it was the view that was truly precious. It is a family-friendly ride sure to create memories that will last a lifetime while offering a view of Colorado’s mountain splendor inaccessible by highway. Relive the sights and sounds of yesteryear for a spectacular journey on board the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Purgatory Resort is a great area with lots of fun activities to keep you entertained throughout the day. The resort have amenities like an Alpine Slide, a Mountain Coaster, Mountain Biking, and much more. Purgatory Resort is a 30 minute drive from both Durango & Silverton.
Durango Hot Springs Resort & Spa
The newly renovated Durango Hot Springs Spa combines the benefits of natural mineral hot springs soaking with therapeutic and relaxation massage and a full complement of spa treatments. Durango Hot Springs is open daily from 9:00 AM-10:00 PM. Reservations are required.
Silverton Art Walk
On Sept 6th from 4:30-7:30pm in downtown Silverton - look for the pink flags to locate participating businesses “First Friday” is a national movement focusing on artists, galleries, and maker spaces. Silverton’s bustling historic business district will celebrate on the first Fridays of June, July, August, and September 2024 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. More than a dozen shops and galleries will open their doors for an eclectic evening of art demonstrations, kid’s activities, live music, shopping and refreshments.
