At a time we didn’t expect, in a way only God could arrange, we began talking from a distance. But even from afar, every time we spoke or saw each other, it never really felt like we were far apart. Our hearts connected in a way that made distance feel invisible. What started as simple conversations quickly became something deeper... a shared love for God and His mission. From the very beginning, our connection was rooted in honesty and prayer. We kept asking God at every step, “Is this from You?” And He kept confirming it, again and again. In April, Elizabeth came to Egypt during a special season, Mario’s sister’s wedding. It was also the first time we met in person. I waited for her at the airport with flowers, feeling hopeful, nervous, and deeply thankful. Seeing her in real life--her kind spirit, gentle heart, and sincere faith--confirmed everything I had sensed from a distance. We quickly realized how much we had in common in our backgrounds, the way we were raised, and our life experiences. It felt like we were twins born in different countries. God guided every detail of our journey. Through long conversations, laughter, and deep prayer, we kept discovering more about each other and about His perfect plan. Then in October, just before Elizabeth had to travel again, I asked a big question… And she said “yes.” It felt like heaven smiled on us that day. In March, Elizabeth returned to Egypt, and now we’re stepping forward to continue writing this beautiful story together. The verse that reminds us of God’s grace in our journey, and the beauty of His design, is: “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." — Proverbs 31:25–26
