They did things a little backwards. Edward and Ciara first met in 2015 when they moved in to a flat share in South London. Through a mutual friend who also lived with them, Ciara moved in May of that year and Ed moved in the August. Ed couldn't believe his luck that he was living with the sweetest, funniest and most beautiful housemate. Living under the same roof they quickly became the best of friends. With Ciara working late nights in London's West End and Edward working away on theatre tours, they were often like passing ships in the night. But they would eventually get to spend more time together, mostly late nights on the sofa, in front of the tv, eating rubbish. Edward instantly fell for her Scottish charm and Ciara was struck by his rugged good looks, and it wasn't long before they would become housemates for life.
It didn't take long for Edward to know he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Ciara. In part because they shared a life long affection for all things Disney. In October 2018, they went on a family holiday to Disney World, Florida. When they booked the holiday earlier that year, Edward knew this would be the perfect time to propose. With the ring and the parent's blessing, off they flew to the USA. At first Ed didn't know exactly where or when he would get down on one knee, so he took Ciara's mother's advice: "When the moment is right, you'll know it". Although this was perfect advice, it did mean Edward had to carry the ring with him most of the time, just in case the right moment presented it self. This brought extra worry of the ring being exposed by countless Disney park security bag-checks or Ciara finding the ring box while looking for her sunglasses. Thankfully halfway through the holiday, after the perfect day enjoying a belated Birthday present meal, a few rides in the park and relaxing by the pool, the perfect moment arrived. At the end of a monorail bar crawl with the family, they were all together drinking cocktails and watching fireworks from the Polynesian resort beach. Edward took Ciara aside to secluded part of the beach, got down on one knee and asked Ciara if she'd spend the rest of their lives together. Cue tears and more tears, she said "YES!". We popped a bottle of champagne and celebrated with the family.
